Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology (AEPC) was founded in Lyon in 1963, which has become a network of specialists who are committed to the practice and advancement of Congenital Cardiology and closely related fields. Cardiology in the Young is the official journal of the AEPC. AEPC's mission: (a) Knowledge of the normal and diseased heart and circulation in a growing individual and (b) Exchange of expertise between experts from Europe and globally and (c) Continuous medical education (d) Harmonizing training in Paediatric Cardiology and it’s subspecialties in Europe. This is done by means of creating European recommendations for training and by organizing several Teaching Courses for Fellows in training. AEPC and its Working Groups aim to enhance collaboration amongst members for scientific research and professional development and to maintain high standards of professional practice. The Association co-operates with numerous associations working in the field of congenital heart defects originating from other continents. AEPC works also closely together with ESC and its organizations.
