Osterreichische Gesellschaft für Allergologie und Immunologie (ÖGAI) founded in 1970 represents all scientists and medical doctors, that are interested in the physiology and pathophysiology of the immune system as well as clinical presentation, diagnostics and therapy of all diseases related to the immune system. The main goals of the ÖGAI are: • to promote general knowledge of the immune system as well as the consequences resulting from its malfunctions, • to decrease the burden of immune-mediated diseases for the individual as well as society in general, • to improve therapy and preventative options for treating immune-mediated diseases. The ÖGAI also supports excellence in training and practice in the fields of allergology and immunology and sees itself as a knowledge mediator as well as an information body for specialist information about the immune system and its diverse disorders such as allergies, autoimmunity, immunodeficiency, for lay people, authorities and experts.
