Austrian Society for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (or) Österreichische Gesellschaft für Kinder- und Jugendheilkunde is a medical society organized according to democratic principles and is subject to Austrian association law. It has over 2,000 paediatricians, both in private practice and in the hospital sector. The Austrian Society for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine sees an important task in providing its members with these resources in the form of information, legal advice and advanced training events. The Austrian Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine sees itself as the representation of all members in their respective professional environment: hospital doctors in clinics and research, resident specialists, specialists in the public health service, doctors in training to become specialists in paediatrics and adolescent medicine. It therefore promotes the active participation of its members. It sees itself as a platform for positioning the professional group both in public and within other medical specialties. The importance of this professional group in medical care is to be emphasized through targeted information about the broad spectrum of the training path and the diverse areas of responsibility of specialists in paediatrics.
