The Austrian Society for Neurology (ÖGN) is the organization of Austrian neurologists. It represents the interests of neurologists in political and scientific matters, and promotes neurology in education and training , teaching and research . It carries out public relations work and engages in cooperation between other professional groups, patients and other stakeholders. The ÖGN was founded in 2000 from the previous Austrian Society for Neurology and Psychiatry. At that time, as in many other countries, the subjects of neurology and psychiatry were separated according to the medical advantage. In the years since 2000, the ÖGN has developed into a strong voice in neurology in Austria.
