The Cyprus Pediatric Society was founded on January 29, 1969 and was the 2nd Medical Society founded in Cyprus after the Surgical Society. In the 42 years that followed, the Pediatric Society grew, became an adult and from the 15 founding members in 1969, today it has 250 members. The Pediatric Society is a member of the Union of Pediatric Societies of the Middle East and Mediterranean UMEMPS, the Union of European Pediatric Societies and Associations UNEPSA-EPA (European Paediatric Association) International Pediatric Association IPA and the European Confederation of Special Pediatric CESP-EAP (European Academy of Paediatrics).
