German Society for Immunology (or) Deutsche Gesellschaft für Immunologie (DGfI) founded in 1967, has more than 2,300 members who work in basic immunological research or in clinical immunology. The scientific activities of the DGfI are organized according to topic in 14 working groups. The DGfI organizes annual congresses with approx. 1000 participants, at intervals also together with other European societies, in order to promote the networking of immunologists within Europe. Goals of DGfI: The German Society for Immunology eV (DGfI) serves the development of immunology as a research area in the natural sciences and medicine Promotion of immunology in basic and clinical research. State-of-the-art immunological training for (young) researchers and medical professionals, Organization of congresses, colloquia, lectures with an immunological focus, Promotion of networks, including in interdisciplinary working groups.
