Italian Federation of Paediatricians

The Italian Federation of Paediatricians (or) Federazione Italiana Medici Pediatri
was established in 1971 at Turin, is the national trade union organization and association professional of Family Pediatricians affiliated with the NHS.

Purpose of FIMP:
1. the professional, moral, juridical, economic, social security and welfare protection of its members adherents
2. the stipulation of National, Regional and Company Collective Agreements with the Health Service (S.S.N.) or in any case, public or private agreements aimed at protecting the health of the child and adolescent and the care of their application
3. the comparison with all the political and social parties in order to improve the health organization in Italy as regards the protection of infancy and the developmental age
4. the promotion, support and organization of updating and / or training activities and of all scientific and cultural initiatives tending to an ever-greater qualification of doctors specializing in pediatrics
5. the promotion, support, organization and execution of research and research activities experimentation; the enhancement of the role and professionalism of the Family Pediatrician within the pediatric functional area, collaborating to this end with professional organizations, national and international social, scientific and health care, with public bodies and institutions private and with the University
6. the encouragement of activities in the medical, cultural and social fields aimed at promoting education moral and civil conscience for the protection of human and citizen rights, also through the promotion of meetings, debates and conferences, organizing exhibitions, meetings and promoting the creation of volunteer groups
7. the promotion of scientific activities, meetings, debates and other research activities aimed at greater health education, promotion of healthy lifestyles and in particular to promotion and dissemination of breastfeeding
8. the promotion of instruments designed to cover the professional and human risks of the category, also through the establishment of a specific Foundation.
