Medical Association of German Allergologists (or) Arzteverband Deutscher Allergologen (AeDA) was founded in 1969 as a "Medical Working Group for Applied Allergology" in the form of a non-profit association.

The purpose and objectives of the association were formulated in the statutes as follows:
The Medical Working Group for Applied Allergology sees the following as the main task: advanced training for doctors practicing in the special field of allergic diseases as well as professional advice for the pharmaceutical industry and public relations. Another purpose of the association is to safeguard, maintain and promote the health policy interests of German allergists with authorities, medical and other organizations, in particular the medical associations, the associations of statutory health insurance physicians and the public.
