Polish Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition

Polish Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (or) Polskie Towarzystwo Gastroenterologii, Hepatologii i Żywienia Dzieci (PTGHiŻD) was established in 1998. As an association, it gathers and unites doctors, scientists from research and academic centers and primary care physicians, creating a forum for the exchange of ideas and formulating tasks, needs and recommendations in the field of gastroenterology, hepatology and developmental nutrition.

The goals of the Polish Society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition for Children are:
• disseminating modern knowledge in the field of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition of children
• participation in raising the scientific level and professional qualifications of pediatricians - especially in the field of pediatric gastroenterology
• conducting and supporting scientific activities, encouraging scientific cooperation and conducting research in the field of pediatric gastroenterology • spreading the principles of deontology and professional ethics and ensuring their observance
• participation in organizing health care and creating programs for the best possible health care protection in the field of gastrointestinal diseases of pediatric patients
• unification of doctors dealing with pediatric gastroenterology for the development of this specialty in the country and representing the community of pediatric gastroenterologists in the country and abroad
• establishing and maintaining international cooperation in the field of gastroenterology and child nutrition.

The Polish Society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition for Children carries out its goals through:
• organization of courses, training and scientific conferences
• conducting training activities
• initiating and establishing cooperation in conducting scientific research in the field of pediatric gastroenterology
• cooperation with national and regional consultants
• issuing opinions on scientific and organizational matters relating to pediatric gastroenterology
• undertaking initiatives aimed at increasing knowledge in the field of pediatric gastroenterology through cooperation with state authorities, social and patient organizations and scientific institutions
