Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (or) Die Gesellschaft für Pädiatrische Gastroenterologie und Ernährung (GPGE) was established in 1974. Goals of the society are: • Better basic research, diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the digestive organs as well as in the field of infant and child nutrition, e.g. with a study register and research awards • Intensive exchange of experiences and opinions among specialized doctors and professionals, including at congresses and in working groups. Making new scientific and clinical findings in our field usable for all of medicine • Strengthen further education and young specialists through further education, specialist events and networks • Quality assurance and informative public relations through the certification of specialists and centers as well as information for parents and children.
