Sociedad Española de Alergología e Inmunología Clínica founded in 1948, being one of the oldest scientific societies in Spain, and its current name, Spanish Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, was coined in 1975. SEAIC is a professional and scientific, non-profit society that develops its activities throughout the territory of the Spanish State and is made up of professionals who work in the study of diseases of the immune mechanism, particularly for hypersensitivity. SEAIC main objectives are: • Promote and disseminate research on Allergology and Clinical Immunology, • Promote training and professional development activities, • Encourage contact, exchange of experiences and sharing among its partners, • Intervene in problems that may affect its members, • Promote information and health education for the general public, in the area of study that corresponds to it. The activities carried out for this purpose are very diverse: • Organization of congresses and symposia on an annual basis, • Publication of guides, monographs and treatises, • Establishment of guidelines and protocols through its working groups, • Establishment of continuing training programs • Representation in the National Commission of the Specialty of Allergology, • Representation in other scientific societies, • Collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry, • Collaboration with the media, • Collaboration with associations of allergic patients, • Disclosure on allergic diseases, • Financing of research work through the “SEAIC Foundation
