Swiss Society of Neurosurgery (or) Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Neurochirurgie (SGNS) was founded in 1954 which has set itself the goal of promoting neurosurgery, planning neurosurgical care in Switzerland and representing the interests of specialist doctors. Among other things, this means promoting subject-specific teaching, advanced training and research in neurosurgery, as well as teaching and research in close cooperation with clinical neurosciences, especially neurology and neuroradiology. She is also committed to the planning and monitoring of the training of young neurosurgeons and the implementation of the examination to obtain the title of specialist doctor. The SGNC organizes an annual business meeting for its members, which is supplemented by further and advanced training on changing topics.
