The Association for the Promotion of Research on Hereditary Metabolic Diseases in the Netherlands was founded in 1988 The Association aims to promote the quality of diagnostics, treatment and scientific research with regard to genetic diseases in metabolism. To achieve this goal, two meetings are organized every year, where, in addition to experienced researchers, young researchers are also encouraged to present their data. During these meetings, prizes are awarded, the prize for the best abstract and the Wadman-van Gennip award, and incentive grants are awarded.
